Publication!

 I'm so excited to share my layout which appears in the Spring 2013 issue of Canadian Scrapbooker.  The Spring issue will be in stores on March 1st.  

Thrilled to be included in this issue and also thrilled to see so many familiar names - - lots of my online scrappy friends featured in this issue as well!    Congrats to all of you!

Publication!!

Had to share!! The Summer 2012 issue of Canadian Scrapbooker just came out & one of my layouts was picked up this issue!! YAY!!

This is my second publication - which was big for me because it means the first time wasn't a fluke!  Ha ha!  My layout shares a page with the artwork of Cari Locken, Jill Sarginson, and Kelly Klapstein - - all amazing Canadian scrappers!!  So exciting!

A close up of the layout - - riding the tractor with Grampa is a favourite summer past-time of both my kids.   The left side of the page was stamped using the CTMH stamp set "Two-Step Backgrounds".  The sketch is from Page Maps book.  Paper packs used were CTMH Splendour and Animal Cookies (both retired).  Circles and scalloped circles cut with CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  Buttons & floss, alphabet stickers all CTMH.

Great Start to my Week!!

Woohoo!!!  Just found out that one of my layouts has been picked up for publication in the Summer 2012 issue of Canadian Scrapbooker!!  I'm absolutely thrilled.  Summer must be lucky for me - my first publication was exactly a year ago in the Summer 2011 issue. 

Thanks for letting me share my excitement!!  I look forward to sharing the layout with you once the magazine comes out in June.

Contest Winners!

So excited to have had three layouts chosen as winners in Close to My Heart's Fall/Winter 2011 Make it From Your Heart Contest (a semi-annual artwork contest for consultants).

Woohoo!! It's Official!

The Summer issue of Canadian Scrapbooker magazine arrived in my mailbox today!
So excited to see my first published layout!  Seriously a dream come true!

The kids and I raced home to open it and madly flipped through the pages to find what we were looking for!!

It will be in stores June 1st - - check it out!! I'm on page 51!

Materials Used (all Close to My Heart):
The layout was picked for a feature article on the colour orange.  I love this orange (Sunset) paper from the Hooligans paper pack.  I combined it with a navy (Outdoor Denim) patterned paper from the retired BackCountry line.  The stars are chipboard and I stamped them with the Spot on Backgrounds stamp set (retired) in Sunset ink.  The title is Posterboard Alpha (one of my faves).  The accents are CTMH brown felt accents (bracket and photo corners), chocolate ribbon, and great orange accents from the Sunset Mini Medley.  And I added a little rub-on sentiment to the metal tag from the Adventure Rub-Ons. I was so happy with this layout when I did it and I'm so happy that Canadian Scrapbooker liked it too!!

Now I'm off to check out the rest of the magazine!!  So much great artwork!!

Winning Contest Entries!!

Woohoo!  Close to My Heart has just posted the winning contest entries from their "Make it From Your Heart" contest for consultants.  This round of the contest features artwork using the Spring/Summer 2011 Paper Packs and Stamps of the Month. 

I was lucky enough to win THREE categories this time around - very exciting!!

This layout won the "Sweetheart Level 2" Category (Level 2 meaning no stamping).

Mistletoe . . . a Little Late!

Here is a layout I did last fall that I somehow missed posting on my blog!!  Close to My Heart holds a contest for consultants with each new catalogue to create artwork with the new products - - this layout won for the Fall/Winter contest in the "Mistletoe Level 2" Category (Level 2 meaning there could be no stamping). 
If you are just getting around to scrapping your Christmas photos - hope this layout provides some inspiration :-)  (You can click on the photo to see a larger image).

BEST MONDAY EVER!!!

I am SOOOO excited!!!  Just got an email letting me know that one of my layouts (using ALL CTMH products!) has been picked up for publication in the summer 2011 issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine!!  I am seriously dancing for joy!  This will be my first (hopefully not my last!!) magazine publication!  Getting published was a big goal for me personally this year so I am BEYOND thrilled!!  Now counting down the days until June when the summer issue is released!!!  Woohooo!

Woohoo!! My Winning Contest Entries & BLOG CANDY!!

Close to My Heart hosts a contest for consultants with the release of each new idea book - basically for consultants to create layouts, cards and other projects with the new products from the catalogue.  Entry categories are very specific, for example:
1) Level 1 layouts - must be created using ONLY the contents of the Level 1 kit.
2) Level 2 layouts - must be created using the Level 2 paper pack, any accessories, but NO stamping.
3) Level 3 layouts - created using the Level 2 paper pack, must have stamping, and use any accessories
etc.

I've never entered before - but with the Fall Idea Book I decided I would give it a try - - I was creating items for fall display anyway - I thought I might as well enter my favourites in the contest.
Well - to my surprise - I won TWO categories!! Woohoo!  I won the Hooligans Level 1 Layout, and the Mistletoe Level 2 Layout!  What did I win, you ask?  FREE PRODUCT, of course!!

The winning entries are now posted online in the CTMH "Make it From Your Heart" Art Gallery!  Hope you'll take some time to browse through all the winning entries!!  And be sure to watch for my two layouts!
