Take Me Somewhere

CTMH's Picture My Life line is this company's answer to the 'pocket scrapbooking, aka. Project Life' trend.   I love that using these great cards (4x6 and 3x4) - I'm getting way more pictures into my albums faster.   I combine my traditional scrapbook pages with my 'pocket pages' in the same albums (all of my albums are organized by theme).    On this page - I used a pocket scrapbooking concept, but made a traditional page (i.e. I'm not using a divided page protector - but a regular old 12x12 page).    I used the Wanderful Picture My Life kit from CTMH (one 4x6 card and one 3x4 card) and then accented the page using a strip of paper from the Wanderful 12x12 paper collection.

Quick & easy and another story captured :-)

Wave Jumping

I've been making a concentrated effort lately to get back to basics.  Keeping my scrapbook pages simple means that more layouts are in my albums where my family can enjoy them . . . which is really the whole point of doing it, right? (In addition to the enjoyment I get just from the process!)

This great design is easy to recreate - simply cut two strips from each of three different patterned papers (a different width for each of the patterns) - spread across your two pages leaving a small space in between each.   Add your matted photos, title, embellies, journalling . . . and you have yourself a finished layout!

Materials Used:
CTMH Jubilee paper collection
CTMH Keyboard Uppercase Alpha stamps
CTMH Hello Summer stamps (sneak peek - coming August 1st!)
Inks:  Cranberry, Honey
Cardstock: Colonial White, Kraft
Other: Marvy Uchida Lepen

Explore Rocamadour - Skylark Layout

The Skylark collection is by far my favourite kit in the CTMH Spring/Summer Idea Book - I have used it on dozens of projects.    I plan to share a few more of them here on the blog before this kit is retired July 31st!     Be sure to order Skylark before then if you want to get this collection before it is gone.   I find the colours are perfect for a variety of photos - but in particular outdoor photos.      This layout is one I put together for our Europe scrapbook (The photo/trip dates back to 2006!  The Europe scrapbook is a continuous work in progress!)   The location in the photo was one of the highlights for me of our touring of the French countryside - an amazing town built into the side of a cliff.    Absolutely breathtaking!

Materials Used:
CTMH Skylark paper collection
Arrows & file tab cut with CTMH Cricut cartridge - Artbooking
CTMH Paper Fundamentals - Basic Collection (glossy embossed cardstock - LOVE!!)
CTMH Trinkets Wooden Shapes
CTMH Aqua Enamel Dots
CTMH stamp set - Keyboard Uppercase Alphabet
White Alphabet Stickers - from my stash

Roomie & Team Gifts - Bag Tags

As is tradition, I made little gift bags for my team members, roomie, and special friends at CTMH's recent convention.    Gift bags were filled with various Convention survival goodies and I also made each person one of these little bag tags for their Convention bags.    One side of the tag is their initial (it is helpful to be able to identify which bag is yours when all 1000+ consultants have the same bag!), the other was a printable quote I found online.    Paper is Jubilee, stamp set is Framework Alphabet.    I laminated & then decorated the jump ring with some retired CTMH ribbon from my stash.

You could easily make something similar as a little gift idea (i.e. luggage tag, backpack tag for your kids, etc.).

I thought they turned out pretty cute & I think the girls liked them too :-)

CTMH Convention 2014 Recap

What a great week in Anaheim for this year's CTMH Convention!   So much fun, as always!   I've had a week to process all the information and ideas & my head is still spinning!   So much creative inspiration.   As most of my blog readers know - I have had a bit of a creative hiatus this spring while recovering from major surgery . . . well, Convention was exactly what I was needed to get the creative juices flowing again.    So - watch for new artwork very soon.   In the meantime - here are a few random photo highlights from Disneyland:

This year's Convention theme: The Artistic Adventure
All dressed up for the Awards Banquet with one of my CTMH teammates & good friend, Brandy.
The amazing CTMH Executive team at Awards night - Kristine, Brian and Monica.
I loved this year's classes - both business & creative!   So many great presenters & ideas.
Our fabulous accommodations - the Disneyland Hotel.
Happiest Place on Earth!
View from our hotel room - Downtown Disney.
A fun evening with Brandy and Susan.
Enjoying the excitement of general session with friends Julie, Melanie, and Brandy.
Love staying at the Disneyland Hotel!
Always a highlight of Convention - Q&A session with CTMH CEO Jeanette Lynton.
One of my favourite CTMH bloggers - Fancy Melissa.   We met at my first Convention 5 years ago in Washington DC & it is always great to see her!
Me & Mickey
Team meet-up - two fantastic ladies - one of my uplines Pam and teammate Brandy.
CTMH through the years - we celebrated 30 years of business this year.
My favourite part of this year's Convention was having FOUR great ladies from my Creative Canadians team there as well!   Here I am with Gillian, France, Sherry, and Lorna.  From all accounts, they had as much fun at Convention as I did and will be back again next year :-)
