Explore Rocamadour - Skylark Layout

The Skylark collection is by far my favourite kit in the CTMH Spring/Summer Idea Book - I have used it on dozens of projects.    I plan to share a few more of them here on the blog before this kit is retired July 31st!     Be sure to order Skylark before then if you want to get this collection before it is gone.   I find the colours are perfect for a variety of photos - but in particular outdoor photos.      This layout is one I put together for our Europe scrapbook (The photo/trip dates back to 2006!  The Europe scrapbook is a continuous work in progress!)   The location in the photo was one of the highlights for me of our touring of the French countryside - an amazing town built into the side of a cliff.    Absolutely breathtaking!

Materials Used:
CTMH Skylark paper collection
Arrows & file tab cut with CTMH Cricut cartridge - Artbooking
CTMH Paper Fundamentals - Basic Collection (glossy embossed cardstock - LOVE!!)
CTMH Trinkets Wooden Shapes
CTMH Aqua Enamel Dots
CTMH stamp set - Keyboard Uppercase Alphabet
White Alphabet Stickers - from my stash

Happy Holidays Washi Gift Card Holder

Hey everyone!!  Last month at my retreat I taught this cute little gift card holder for one of my make & take projects.   Perfect for Christmas gift card giving!

These were so fun & easy to make!   The gift card holder base is cut from the CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge (page 59, cut at 5.25").   The ornament on the front is also from the Artiste cartridge (page 79).   To decorate the ornament, I simply laid strips of washi tape and shimmer tape across the ornament, leaving small strips of white cardstock to show between each row.   I then flipped the ornament over & trimmed around the edge so that the washi & shimmer tapes were flush with the ornament edges.   I also popped up the ornament on the front with foam tape for added dimension.    The edges of each patterned paper are inked in slate ink to give it a more finished look.    The gift card holder fits perfectly is a standard 4.25" x 5.5" envelope.

So fun!

Materials Used:
CTMH Sparkle & Shine paper collection
CTMH Sparkle & Shine washi tape 3-pack
CTMH red shimmer trim (temporarily on back order - back in stock soon!)
CTMH ink: ruby & slate
CTMH cardstock:  white daisy
CTMH Cricut cartridge:  Artiste
CTMH stamp set:  Perfect Fit - Holidays
3-D Foam Tape
CTMH Neutral Assortment Bakers Twine

Have a great day!

So Lucky!

A few weeks ago I shared with you a layout I created from the CTMH Sarita Workshop kit.   Each CTMH scrapbooking kit actually guides you through two complete 2 page layouts.   Here is my second layout from the Sarita kit:

All of the die-cut pieces are from the CTMH Cricut Artiste cartridge.     My favourite part of the Sarita workshop kit are these super fun little etched wood & metal accents (which are also sold seperately)!

Super versatile little embellishments!

I have a bit of a crazy week this week - - just a few more sleeps until my fall retreat!   Lots of prep happening here in the craft room!   Can't wait.

Progress!!

Sharing a new layout for this week's sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.

The layout is all about my son and the water.   He had a huge year this year  . . . he used to not really enjoy the water and has been afraid to put his face in as long as I can remember.   Years of swimming lessons did nothing to improve the situation.   We had tried goggles to keep the water out of his eyes, but it didn't seem to help or make him more comfortable at all.  We had a huge breakthrough this year on vacation in Hawaii when we gave him a pair of snorkelling goggles which not only covered his eyes, but his nose as well.   Well - voila - - now we have a swimmer.   Keeping the water out of his nose did the trick.    He now loves the water and over the summer he even learned to swim without the goggles.   He is now officially a little fish & is in the water any chance he gets!

This was a great sketch to work with - I increased the scale of it to accommodate my larger photos - but otherwise kept most of the elements of the design.

And the sketch:

Materials Used:
CTMH Sarita paper collection
CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge (title, arrow die-cuts, and polaroid-style photo frame)
Chic Tags journalling tag
CTMH buttons (retired)
CTMH bakers twine - Harvest Collection
CTMH Cardstock: Outdoor Denim, Lagoon, Colonial White

Thanks for stopping by today - hope you'll join us this month at Let's Get Sketchy!    You have until the end of November to link up your take on this great sketch.
