CTMH's Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for August

Welcome to the Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for August - featuring the GORGEOUS stamp set "Something Splendid"!  This stamp set was created with the "base & shade" stamping technique in mind!  What exactly is "base & shade" stamping?  Well - essentially it is layering stamped images to give you a multi-dimensional, and in many cases, multi-coloured images.  The flower and leaf images in this set are stunning when you 'layer' the fine details of the image using a second stamp in a slightly different shade or colour!!

Along this month's Stamp of the Month hop you'll find dozens of fabulous creations using this stamp set - all brought to you by a very talented group of CTMH Consultants! If you've come here from Alison's Blog, you are on the right path. If this is your first stop on the hop, that will work too (just keep hopping till you get back here again)!

To continue along the hop, just follow the link at the end of each post to go to the next site. We hope that following the hop will give you lots of inspiration and ideas for using your "Something Splendid" stamp set, as well as the many other great CTMH products you'll see in each post.

My creation for you today is a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" card.  I used the great flower image, as well as the accent leaves and a wonderful sentiment, all from this month's Stamp of the Month set.  The "base & shade" technique allows you to see the veins in the leaves and the shading of the flower petals!  My card also features the new CTMH "Clear Cards" - made of a flexible acrylic material and currently available in this cute square shape, as well as a great scalloped circle shape (and watch for more varieties coming soon)!  The trick to using clear cards is to plan out your card BEFORE adhering anything!  Use lots of layers to hide your adhesive and to give your card  great multidimensional look!    My card design was inspired by "Layered Look" from the CTMH How-To Book "Wishes".
